Article summary

Use this block to have your bot push a message to your client when they first interact with your bot. This can be as simple as making it a plain text message, or adding some color and fun with emojis or inserting dynamic content using variables.

TYPICAL USES FOR THIS:

  • Use as a welcome message for users when they first interact with your bot.
  • Use as a reply to a user question/interaction.

Lets unpack the available features within this block and what you can do with it.

Type your message into the text box provided.

We also provide some tools to allow you to enhance the message further such as:

Let’s look at each of them and what they do:

  • Bolding and italicizing your text.

Do this by:

  1. Highlighting the text you’d like to bold or put in italics.

  •  adding emoticons.

Do this by:

  2. Click on the emoticon icon and select your emoticon of choice by clicking on it from the list provided. Your emoticon will appear in the text box like the example shown above.

  •   allow you to add in dynamic data to your messages. We offer some basic system-level variables, but you can also create your own custom variables too.

Add additional messages and randomize them when users interact with your bot! You can do this by adding another message block.

Below is an example of how it would look if you were to add more than one additional messages.

Do this by:

  1. Clicking on the blue + button to add another message.
  2. Type your additional message in the new text box provided.

When you’re done, click on “Save” and your block will appear in the builder flow window.
